Ginger Shot

Road Side Flowers from Sassari, Italy.

Welcome! My name is Shilpi its meaning is Artisan in Hindu Religion.By profession I am a Research Scholar at an Environmental Engineering Research Institute, Nagpur, India doing my PhD in Chemistry. I love to travel different places & meet new people. I am highly inspired by nature and love flowers.
Ginger Shot is all about Art, Art and Art. In what ever spare time I have, I recycle waste to art or whatever I find ''anything & everything'' I try to give it an Artisan Effect.

One of a Kind

I love flowers. There uniqueness and the way each one blooms give me the confidence to believe in myself without comparison. The countless range of vivid colors allow me to think wild and chase my dreams in my own way. I am One of a kind and so is my love for Art.

The Pebbles...
It was a nice breezy morning and I completed reading my favorite newspaper Nagpur Times the city edition of Times of India, and Ooohhhh!!!...the papers took a flight with the breeze.  As I was looking here and there for the paper weight I spotted on a garden stone, picked and used it as an anchor for the newspaper on  table. It appeared so dull and boring  so I decided to give it an Artistic make over. My best companions  when I am lonely are the colors & canvas, but to accomplish the art hunt I needed that "anything & everything" and this time they were the stones.

I took few garden stones, washed them thoroughly to remove any soil or dust adhered to it.I started with the stones painting randomly and ended up as beautiful paper weight. I also gave them a clear coating as sealant and now they are washable too.

They also proved to be very cheap and random gift you are always ready with.......

I used all bright and glittering colors, each face of the stone was carrying new stories and a new view. It was fun for me to pick stone from river bed when I was kid and now its another dimension of Art for me. This is an easy and unique DIY craft for kids also.

From the Jungles to the towers of city

Here I tried to draw out a summer evening of  jungle, a baby giraffe with mother giraffe returning back after the tiring field activity.

Thinking of a story and painting it on a rough stone is not an easy job, but what is most required is continuity and patience. First start with a base coat and then figure out the creature you love, finally highlight it with a marker to give it a professional finishing. Don't forget to coat it with sealant as this will protect your paint on the stone.

Do It Yourself:- All you need
  • Pebbles 3-4''
  • Acrylic paints
  • Permanent markers
  • Paint brushes
  • Clear coat sealant
  • A story
  • Most important Do It Yourself.
